Song Lyrics

[Demi Lovato]
I've always been the kind of girl
That hid my face
So afraid to tell the world
What I've got to say

But I have this dream
Bright inside of me
I'm gonna let it show
It's time to let you know
To let you know...

[Chorus]
This is real, this is me
I'm exactly where I'm supposed
To be now
Gonna let the light shine on me
Now I've found who I am
There's no way to hold it in
No more hiding who I want to be
This is me

Do you know what it's like
To feel so in the dark
To dream about a life
Where you're the shining star

Even though it seems
Like it's too far away
I have to believe
In myself, it's the only way

[Chorus]

[Joe Jonas]
You're the voice I hear inside my head
The reason that I'm singin'
I need to find you
I gotta find you

You're the missin' piece I need
The song inside of me
I need to find you
I gotta find you

[Both]
[Chorus]

This is me... This is me..

[Joe Jonas]
You're the missing piece I need
The song inside of me

You're the voice I hear
Inside my head
The reason that I'm singin'

[Both]
There's no way to hold it in
No more hiding who I want to be
This is me

"This is Me" shows self expression because it talks about who "Mitchie" really is and not someone she is not.It also shows self expression because it talks about how she felt about her summer and the people she met at "Camp Rock".Although there are obstacles she must conquer she ends up finding herself as a person she is not and acts herself again."This is Me" also shows self expression because it is song that tells you to be yourself and not someone you are not.

Advertisment

Meditation is not a technique but a way of life. Meditation means 'a cessation of the thought process' . It describes a state of consciousness, when the mind is free of scattered thoughts and various patterns . The observer (one who is doing meditation) realizes that all the activity of the mind is reduced to one.Commonly today, people can mean any one of these stages when they refer to the term meditation. Some schools only teach concentration techniques, some relaxation, and others teach free form contemplative activities like just sitting and awaiting absorption. Some call it meditation without giving credence to yoga for fear of being branded 'eastern'. But yoga is not something eastern or western as it is universal in its approach and application.

One way to show self expression is to meditate.People meditate as away of being quiet and sometimes use it as a way to express themselves.Meditation also shows self expression because most people use it to clear their mind when they are stressed. Some people even do it as a hobby.Businesses advertise meditation because most people are stressed over crazy things.Meditation can even stop your temptation.Meditation also shows self expression because people meditate differently and in different enviorments.

Cartoon

The Avengers is one of the most popular and beloved television series of all time. Its outrageous blend of wit and style and its unique mix of the fantasy and spy genres, coupled with the marvellous characters of John Steed and Emma Peel make it one of television's great classics.

"The Avengers" is a great show that is basically a new version of "The Justice League." It expressess how mortals and immortals can unite to protect one another. That is an important thing because mutants aren't the same as mortals, but yet they co-operate with each other to save the world. This show also expressess how just because someone is different doesn't mean that they can't be around a normal or a more popular person than them.

Symbol

This Simbol(Yin-Yang) represents the ancient Chinese understanding of how things work. The outer circle represents "everything", while the black and white shapes within the circle represent the interaction of two energies, called "yin" (black) and "yang" (white), which cause everything to happen. They are not completely black or white, just as things in life are not completely black or white, and they cannot exist without each other.
While "yin" would be dark, passive, downward, cold, contracting, and weak, "yang" would be bright, active, upward, hot, expanding, and strong. The shape of the yin and yang sections of the symbol, actually gives you a sense of the continual movement of these two energies, yin to yang and yang to yin, causing everything to happen: just as things expand and contract, and temperature changes from hot to cold.

The Yin and Yang sign basically shows the resemblance and connection between you feeling week and powerless rather than you feeling strong and powerful. This expressess another way of different people coming together to work as one. It also shows expression because it is just something that can affect the way everyone thinks about someone or something else. Finally, the Yin and Yang sign is a very expressional symbol that affects our whole economy.

Quotation

"Give me Liberty, or give me Death!" is a famous quotation attributed to Patrick Henry from a speech made to the Virginia Convention. It was given March 23, 1775, at St. John's Church in Richmond, Virginia, and is credited with having swung the balance in convincing the Virginia House of Burgesses to pass a resolution delivering the Virginia troops to the Revolutionary War. Supposedly in attendance were Thomas Jefferson and George Washington. Reportedly, the crowd, upon hearing the speech, shouted, "To arms! To arms!"

The text of this speech first appeared in print in Life and Character of Patrick Henry by William Wirt which was first published in 1816, seventeen years after Patrick Henry's death. In 1815, Wirt wrote to a friend, "from 1763 to 1789... not one of his speeches lives in print, writing or memory. All that is told me is, that on such and such an occasion, he made a distinguished speech"[1] Wirt corresponded with men who had heard the speech and others who were acquainted with people who were there at the time. Wirt wrote to Judge St. George Tucker, who had been present for the speech, that "I have taken almost entirely Mr. Henry's speech in the Convention of '75 from you, as well as your description of its effect on your verbatim.

The quote "Give me Liberty or give me Death" shows expression because it means that the person who states it wants to either get free or die trying. That is very expressing phrase because its showing that this person does not want to spend the rest of their live as a slave. It shows that people will, did, and still do stand up for what is right and try to change it from wrong to right. This quote is something that will always continue to be passed down from generation to generation for many many centuries.

Short Story

The repetition of the hard “c” and “k” sounds in the first line mimics the sound of the horse’s hooves on the cobblestones; this repetition of stressed consonants is called alliteration. The third stanza also offers an excellent example of narrative compression: that is, Noyes manages to convey a lot of information in a very few lines. Not only does Noyes inform us that Bess opens the window to the highwayman, but through careful diction he suggests that Bess and the highwayman are already lovers. Bess is “waiting” for the highwayman, which implies that she had expected his arrival, and she is braiding a “love-knot,” or token of love, into her hair. Noyes makes careful use of color in these lines: with her sensual black eyes and long black hair, Bess, like the highwayman, is also identified with the night. Moreover, both the highwayman and Bess wear a dark red article of clothing (the highwayman’s jacket is “claret” velvet): this color effectively foreshadows the bloody end to which they will each come.

The Highwayman is about a girl named Bess and the Highwayman. Bess really shows how she feels about the Highwayman. She is deeply in love with him and sacrificed her life to save him. Another way this shows self expression is because they always do something for eachother no matter what the consequences are. The two show really strong feelings for eachother which is vevry important for them to know as they live the rest of their lives as ghost. Without eachother Bess and the Highwayman would probably have not ever been showing the feelings that were hidden deep inside them until they finally met.

Poem

April Rain Song

Let the rain kiss you
Let the rain beat upon your head with silver liquid drops
Let the rain sing you a lullaby
The rain makes still pools on the sidewalk
The rain makes running pools in the gutter
The rain plays a little sleep song on our roof at night
And I love the rain.

The April Rain Song expressess how the writer (Langston Hughes) feels about the rain. It also expressess self expression because he describes the many different ways that the rain sounds to him. He brings out the compassionate side of himself and just decides to be quiet and listen to the wonderful sound of the rain. Langston Hughes is a very great writer and expressess himself by writing poems and many other self expression pieces of writing.

In the middle of the two clubs there is aboy named Alfalfa and a girl named Darla who are deeply in love. They express themselves by seperating each other from their clubs and seeing each other often. Alfalfa even sang a song to Darla a canoe. TV Show

A tv show about the Taylor family. It consists of a husband who loves tools and fixing things, (even though he usually only makes things worse.) A wife who sticks by him no matter what. They also have three boys, and an unusual neigbor named Wilson, who is always full of good advice and wisdom. Tim Taylor, played by a funny man Tim Allen, portrays a cable television show host of a do-it-yourself type home improvement show. His co-host Al joins him on and off set in the show. Marty, Tim's brother shows up often in the later seasons as well as a bunch of family members on both Jill Taylor's (played by Patricia Richardson) side as well as Tim's side. During the run of the show, producers created a show that took on real life topics and concerns and added a touch of comedy that you could relate to. The shows success made Tim Allen a household name and the phrase "more power" common english.

Home Improvement is about a constructor who simply expresses himself by building. He also expresses himself by showing his feelings about his family and friends. He is a tedious person and expresses himself in many different ways using many emotions. One time his wife asked him to build her an office and he got overjoyed, but then she changed her mind and he looked and felt dreadful. His two sons show expression the same way he does except for the fact that they like to go out on dates. Last, but not least Tim Allen and his family show self expression by mostly just being themselves.

Novel

The story Maniac Magee is a folk story about a boy, a very excitable boy. One that can outrun dogs, hit a home run off the best pitcher in the neighborhood, untie a knot no one can undo. "Kid's gotta be a maniac," is what the folks in Two Mills say. It's also the story of how this boy, Jeffrey Lionel "Maniac" Magee, confronts racism in a small town, tries to find a home where there is none and attempts to soothe tensions between rival factions on the tough side of town. Presented as a folk tale, it's "The history of a kid" and four parts of fun. Maniac Magee won the 1991 Newbery Award Medal.

Maniac Magee relates to self expression because it talks about how he feels about his community, family, friends, and Amanda ( a girl he met on the black end of town). This story also talks about how he felt when he became an orphan because his parents died on a trolley crash. Jeffrey felt unappreciated when he had to live with his aunt and uncle for eight years. He felt this way because they were always unhappy and didn't care about him or his parents. Jeffrey was Maniac Magee's real name and finally, this relates to self expression because this book talks about how he felt after he ran from the white end of town to the black end of town.
